Born as the 4thd child to parents Joseph and Katherine Jackson, Jermaine became the original lead singer of an earlier incarnation of The Jackson 5 until 1967 when younger brother Michael assisted lead vocals but Jermaine would co-lead with Michael for many years. Jermaine and his brothers signed with Motown Records in 1969. Jermaine was the co-lead singer of The Jackson 5, after his brother Michael, and sings notable parts of "I Want You Back", "I'll Be There", and "I Am Love". Like Michael, Jermaine also began a solo career concurrent to his tenure in The Jackson 5, and had many hits. 

Considered “one of the biggest phenomenons in pop music during the early 1970s, The Jackson 5’s combination of extraordinary musical talent and choreography has earned the family the status of pop royalty in the music world and was later responsible for providing the launching pads of the solo careers of both Jermaine and Michael.

The Jackson 5 were later known as The Jacksons when brothers Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Michael and Randy signed to CBS Records, while Jermaine stayed loyal  to Motown and continued his solo career. Jermaine and the brothers reunited in 1984 at a peek of Jermaine’s success as an established solo artist.

Besides making music with his brothers and on his own, Jermaine Jackson contributed his vocals to songs from various from artists and he recorded music together with artists such as Whitney Houston, Melissa, Adnan Sami, Sofia Marikh, Jocelyn Brown, Lydia, Theresa Rhodes, Syreeta Wright, Rita Coolidge and Táta Vega. Jermaine produced, arranged and wrte music for numerous bands and artists, including Switch, LoveSmith, Thelma Houston, Syreeta Wright, Whitney Houston, Boys Next Door, Mandy Lee and Cher Lloyd. Plus, Jermaine is mentoring his sons Jaafar and Jermajesty to launch their singing careers and he also recorded music with them.

As a solo artists as well as a member, singer and bassist player of The Jacksons 5 and The Jacksons, Jermaine Jackson has been a performer live on stage all over the world for over 5 decades. He continues to perform all over the globe and launch new stage concepts.

Jermaine Jackson is an incredible, and unfortunately a lot of times much  underrated, bass player. 

As a high profile person and living a life in the public’s eye, Jermaine Jackson is a TV personality and participated in various (reality) shows and of course  graced the covers of numerous magazines. 

Through songs, appearances, performances, speeches and statements, Jermaine Jackson makes humanitarian efforts to contribute to numerous charity organizations and awareness programs to raise money, to give back and to make the world a better place. In 1989, after a trip to Bahrain, Jermaine converted to Islam. His Muslim name is Mohammad Abdul Aziz Sharif.

Besides being a musician, performer and humanitarian, Jermaine Jackson is an entrepreneur. Always being a keeper of the flame, Jermaine Jackson moves beyond the music in the worlds of entertainment, hospitality, jewelry and accessories and food and beverages to make his dreams come true and turn his creative concepts into reality. 

Last but not least, Jermaine Jackson publicly defended his brother Michael when he went through rough times. Jermaine is on a mission to make the world remember his brother for the great human being that he was. Jermaine wrote his memoirs in the book You Are Not Alone, Michael: Through A Brother’s Eyes, published in 2011 which is an intimate, loving portrait of his brother Michael, illuminating the private man like never before. In 2013, the book was fully revised and updated. Jermaine Jackson's memoirs is an Amazon and New York Times best seller!
